WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Communications Workers of America (CWA) announced their endorsement for Congressman Rob Menendez’s re-election campaign to serve New Jersey’s 8th Congressional District.
“CWA District 1 is proud to endorse Congressman Rob Menendez for re-election!” said CWA District 1 Vice President Dennis G. Trainor. “Rep. Menendez is a staunch advocate for New Jersey’s working families and has devoted his life to making this state even stronger. He’s who we need in Washington helping make our voices heard!”
“I am proud to serve CWA’s hard-working members, and I am grateful to be endorsed for re-election,” said Congressman Rob Menendez. “In Congress, I will continue to introduce pro-union legislation like the Working Families Task Force – and I will not rest until the PRO Act is signed into law. We will always stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our unions in the fight for fair wages, stronger workplace protections, and improved safety standards. With the support of CWA’s dedicated members, we will secure re-election so that we can remain a champion for organized labor in Washington.”
CWA is one of America’s largest and most diverse unions, with members in not just in the communications and information industries, but also in the news media, the airlines broadcast and cable television, public service, higher education and healthcare, manufacturing, in high tech and more. CWA District 1 represents 145,000 workers in 200 CWA local unions in New Jersey, New York, New England, and eastern Canada, including 70,000 workers in New Jersey.
