WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Whip Katherine Clark, and Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar endorsed Congressman Rob Menendez for re-election in 2024.
“We are proud to endorse Congressman Rob Menendez for re-election. In the U.S. House of Representatives, Rob is a champion for our values and fights tirelessly to make the American Dream a possibility for all,” said House Democratic Leader Jeffries, Whip Clark, and Caucus Chair Aguilar. “Rob’s focus and effectiveness have made him an invaluable member of the Democratic Caucus, having already served in several leadership positions, both elected and appointed by his peers. He is a fierce advocate for transportation and affordability, stands with us against MAGA extremism, and continues to deliver for his community and our nation. Rob has always put People Over Politics, and we look forward to helping him get re-elected so he can continue his work for New Jersey’s Eighth Congressional District.”
“For the past year, I have worked closely alongside Leader Jeffries, Whip Clark, and Caucus Chair Aguilar for the benefit of working families in New Jersey’s Eighth Congressional District,” said Congressman Menendez. “Our collaborative approach has brought back over $11 billion in federal funding for our communities, blocked GOP attacks on a woman’s right to reproductive choice, and kept our government open. And there is so much more that we can and will accomplish together. I am proud to have our leadership team’s support for my re-election campaign, and I look forward to working with them to both win another term and to ensure a Democratic majority in the 119th Congress.”
Currently in his first term in the House, Congressman Menendez represents New Jersey’s Eighth Congressional District which includes portions of Hudson, Essex, and Union Counties. The Eighth Congressional District is one of the most diverse in the country, with 45% of residents being born outside of the United States and 52% being Latino.
Congressman Menendez serves as Regional Whip for the House Democratic Caucus, Co-Chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus’ Immigration Task Force, and served as Freshman Representative to the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee in 2023.
This announcement builds upon many endorsements from leaders across federal, state, and local government, county and local Democratic organizations, and labor unions.
