The Health Professionals and Allied Employees, AFT, AFL-CIO (HPAE) has endorsed Rob Menendez’s candidacy for the 8th Congressional District.
“Rob has shown that he understands the issues facing nurses and healthcare workers in the 8th Congressional District and we are proud to endorse him,” said HPAE President Debbie White, RN. “We know that in Congress, Rob will act to provide safe working conditions for healthcare workers, fight for funding for University Hospital, and protect our right to organize. We look forward to working with him for years to come.”
“Our nurses and healthcare professionals were overworked and underpaid even before the pandemic even hit,” said Rob Menendez. “During the last two years, they have had to work longer hours than ever and risk their lives as frontline COVID-19 pandemic first responders. We must support them, their right to organize, and their fight for better workplace conditions. I always will.”
HPAE represents over 14,000 nurses and healthcare workers in hospitals and other health care facilities throughout the state.
